Preparing Animals for Release
Releasing the rehabilitated animals back to their environment is our ultimate goal for every patient and affirmation of hours of service and hard work by volunteers and staff. To be released animals must sufficiently meet the goal of the rehabilitation process and pass a final examination. The final exam is necessary for ensuring the animal’s safety and longevity after being released. We never release an animal back into the ocean before they are fully rehabilitated. Once the animal has passed the NOAA examination, we will organize their safe return to the ocean and will provide follow-up care to ensure they have remained healthy since being reintroduced to their environment.
